A leading global management consulting firm, with over 30,000 professionals in more than 60 countries, needed to transition from its legacy contract life-cycle management (“CLM”) system to a modern, scalable platform. The legal department recognized that a simple technology swap would not resolve deep-seated operational inefficiencies. They needed a comprehensive review of current processes, root cause analysis of pain points and a new operating model that would ensure future success.
We began by assessing the existing contracting processes through interviews, surveys, document analysis and data reviews. Together with client stakeholders, we designed a future state operating model covering workflows, metadata, user responsibilities and technology integrations.
Next, we reviewed and began cleansing a 150,000-document corpus – eliminating duplicates and obsolete records while applying a metadata structure to improve search and reporting. We also assessed language patterns and privacy risk exposure across more than 30 countries to inform the firm’s global privacy compliance strategy.
Outcome
Based on our recommendations, the firm selected and configured DocuSign CLM to align with the future operating model. Our document review achieved a 98% quality score, drastically improving the accuracy and usability of the firm’s contract data. The legal team also gained visibility into privacy risks across jurisdictions and developed mitigation strategies to support global operations.
